God has blessed me with the privilege of serving as a pastor for more than 51 years, and I’m grateful for every step of the journey He’s allowed me to walk.
I was born in Mississippi and grew up in Denham Springs, Louisiana. After high school, I spent three semesters at LSU before the Lord opened a new door in January of 1975. That’s when I moved to Lexington, Kentucky, became pastor of Porter Memorial Baptist Church’s inner‑city mission, and continued my studies at the University of Kentucky, graduating in 1978.
In the spring of 1979, God led me back to Louisiana to pastor the Reserve Southern Baptist Mission. Under His leadership, that mission grew and organized as First Baptist Church of Reserve in 1983. During those years, I studied at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, earned my Master of Divinity, and served as a graduate fellow in the Pastoral Ministries Division, teaching preaching, voice, and articulation. I also had the joy of pastoring Chalmette First Baptist Church during that time.
In 1985, I accepted the call to pastor Latonia Baptist Church in Covington, Kentucky, where I continued serving while completing my Doctor of Ministry degree from New Orleans Seminary in 1988.
Then, in 1990, God brought me to Towering Oaks Baptist Church in Greeneville, Tennessee. I served there as Senior Pastor until my retirement in October of 2025 — a season of ministry I will always cherish.
Over the years, the Lord has allowed me the joy of organizing two mission churches into fully participating Southern Baptist Convention congregations and pastoring churches in Louisiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. Beyond the pastorate, one of my greatest blessings has been leading more than 20 Bible‑land tours to Israel, Greece, Italy, Jordan, and Egypt. Walking those ancient paths with believers and watching Scripture come alive for them has been one of the great privileges of my life.
